It is true that everybody is equal; we have the same rights, obligations, opportunities, but we are different in other things like, everybody are from different cultures. one of those cultures is "Japanese Culture".
The japanese culture has a lot of differences with other cultures and one of those differences is the Kimono, the kimono is the traditional cloth that was wearing until the war. The term mono means thing and Ki=Kiru means carry.
The kimonos are large and big sleeves. There are a lot kinds of kimonos that are wearing for men, women and kids. The shape, color, material and the decoration depend of the gender, age, season, and the occasion. The accesories for the kimono are "geta"; wood sandals and "tabi"; traditional socks that separete the thumb from the rest of the toes.
In the past the formal Kimono was take away for the European clothing and the "yukata"; a really simple Kimono, was used every day. With the emperor Meiji, the European clothes became the uniformof the army. After the big "Kantô" Earthquake, the person that wore Kimono was victim of robbery. In the actuality the people wear European clothing and yukata in special moments.
I like kimonos and I hope to wear one of those in the future.
